Saturday, May 24, 2003 | ![]() Azriel: One of the darker angels... you are the angel of death, and destruction... how do you like that? Figures? yea... thought so... Which Angel Lays Within You? brought to you by Quizilla I think it's supposed to be "lies within you", no? Incompetent fool *zaps quiz author with fiery sword* muahahaha~ ![]() You are...Beatrice from Much Ado About Nothing!!! You meanie. You hate men for no good reason (and believe me, we are all wondering why). Your entire family thinks you are a silly goose, even your skanky maid. Get over yourself and marry that handsome devil Benedick...;) What Famous Shakespearean Lady From A Comedy Are You? (10 Possibilities!!) brought to you by Quizilla Is that Emma Thompson in the picture? ![]() You are Severus Snape. You are a superbly sarcastic, somewhat evil wizard. Friday, May 23, 2003 ![]() Remus Lupin, Defence Against the Dark Arts. Harry Potter Quiz: Which Hogwarts Professor Are You? brought to you by Quizilla My second favourite professor! Did not like the Snape photo they put up in the quiz anyway. | ![]() You are the Dark Mother. Beautiful, dark, protecting, you are the grace of the night. You keep safe the newly turned and guide them through their first dark days. What Fictional Vampire Archtype are You? brought to you by Quizilla Why did I get this? Chris suggested that I might have gotten The Lone Wolf *grins* maybe... that would make more sense than the "protector and grace of the night", at any rate. Hm... was wondering about vampirism. Ever wondered if one day you were turned into a vampire, what would you be like? Like the Anne Rice vampires, still keeping their minds and personalities, perhaps a little more...enhanced? Or like Dracula, all devil and no soul? There are some self-professed vampires who have websites... interesting to read and all. But not quite the demon possession they used to say it was. Then again they used to say witches were demon-possessed and consorts of the Devil, and I happen to think I'm rather human. |

Tuesday, May 20, 2003 | I've been reading this LoTR/HP crossover... pretty interesting. I'm already at Part 2: Stars In The River, and there's this part where the Gryffindor trio hitch a ride on the back of a Thestral (black winged horse, said to be able to turn invisible at will). And the Thestral calls Harry "black colt", calls Ron "bay colt" and calls Hermione "chestnut filly" *LOL* If you're interested, the link to Part 1: Clouds Over Snow is here. |
Monday, May 19, 2003 ![]() I am never colouring with Photoshop again. Took me almost an hour just to colour the eyes in the picture above. But then again, I find the effects of colour pencil just don't work when you scan the picture in. Lazy person that I am, I didn't draw the town below... I can't remember where the photo is from. Anyway just drawing half of the wolf face was quite enough, thank you. And after so much work... the result is just a tiny 100 X 99 avatar. Why do I feel so cheated? |

Saturday, May 17, 2003 Hyanda, on the other hand, ended up extremely bishounen =P Click here to see it. Then again, my impression of him has always been like that. Lothlorien elf and all. | I finally finished Chapter 4... without any strange Plot Bunnies popping up. I think. Now on to Hogwarts... what a relief. I drew my impression of Eleris this morning as well... uncoloured, as usual. But at least she looks like a human child. You can see it here. Unfortunately, after I looked at my drawing a second time... I realised she could also be taken as a very pretty boy. *sighs* This is so hopeless (or as my sister likes to tell me, hoffnungslos). I think it's the hairstyle. And the reason why I always draw side profiles only, is because I can never get the both sides of the face to balance properly *laughs* And they usually face the left, because I find them easier on the eyes that way. |
Friday, May 16, 2003 *defensively* It looked better in my sketchbook! |
Thursday, May 15, 2003 "Hugh Grant breezes in after last night's premiere of An Awfully Big Adventure, in Timberland boots and specs, a blue shirt. Repellently gorgeous, why did we cast him? He's much prettier than I am." It's okay Emma Thompson, I think you're Still The Prettiest. *laughs* According to her, one tourist poking his nose about the set when they were filming mistook AR for Tom Cruise *face faults* Proof that two billions years of evolution have still failed to work wonders with the intelligence levels of some people. Lee Ang also seems to be a very giggly person o.O And he gave the crew massages and made them meditate before rehearsals. |
Wednesday, May 14, 2003 *ahem* the above paragraph should be happily disregarded. Thank you. |
Monday, May 12, 2003 | Hm. I didn't realise enatation deleted previous comments if you changed the template *sighs* oh well... |
Sunday, May 11, 2003 Then I read some Snoo Wilson plays: Vampire, The Grass Widow, The Glad Hand and Sabina. I didn't get most of any of the plays. In my (highly superficial) opinion, they just seemed to involve a lot of unnatural sex and a lot of nudity. Oh, and dead people and drugs. Vampire, for example, was a hugely unfunny Gothic farce thing, it was just plain disturbing (or maybe that was the point? I don't know). And The Grass Widow, though a lot more coherent, was just weird. There was this whole "God is an alien" thing a la Scientology, plus strange gangster/drug-dealer guy who insisted that we need to "get in touch with our inner snake" or something. But there were some funny parts at least, so I'd say it was the play I enjoyed the most. There was a bit of a whodunit feel 'cause Dennis (played by AR) was acting so strangely you didn't know if he was lying about his best friend's death or not, or even if he really was the guy's best friend and it was really creepy when one of the characters, Carmen (played by Tracey Ullman), unearths a pile of bones in a chest of papers. Plus piranhas in the hot tub *LOL* reminds me of a Weird Al song. And either it's just me, or my blog is turning into a book review column. *LOL* |

Friday, May 09, 2003 ![]() Hermione Granger Eternal Magic : Which Harry Potter Girl are You? brought to you by Quizilla Duh...boring. But then again, there aren't many HP girls anyway... unless you count McGonagall and Trelawney?! You are one of the Sindar. Also called the Grey Elves, they were made up of a large portion of the Telerin Elves, which remained in Beleriand searching after their lost king. There they dwelt with and fought alongside the Noldor in the great Wars of Beleriand, after which they dispersed into the forests of the world, ruling remnant kingdoms of the rustic Silvan Elves, before retreating into the West, where all Elves eventually came in their end. They are known as the Grey Elves of starlit Beleriand, for before the return of the renegade Noldor and the Enemy from the West they dwelt in the twilit forests there, gaining much knowledge. They were accounted the fairest and most wise of the Dark Elves who never completed the great march. What type of Elf are you? brought to you by Quizilla Er... that's nice. Even though I don't really understand what all that meant. ![]() You are Morgan Le Faye, King Arthur's sister. One of the most mysterious and enchanting lady of Camelot, Morgan was an powerful sorceress. Which Lady of Camelot Are You? brought to you by Quizilla *makes face* That's all well and fine, 'cept am so not into the whole incest thing, nor will ever be. | I read There's A Girl In My Soup! (by Terence Frisby) yesterday...*tries to imagine AR in an apron* *ends up laughing self silly...er...sillier* |

Monday, May 05, 2003 | A BLUE Dragon Lies Beneath! If there ever was a draconic example of a supple attitude, my Inner Dragon is it. Blues are the Water Elemental dragon - typified by their Steam breath weapon. Pretty creative, huh? It goes right along with my Inner Dragon's tendency to maim, but not destroy. Much like my native oceans and rivers will deform the rock over time, eventually wearing it away to nothing. Humans shouldn't make the mistake of thinking I'm weak, however. After all I'm a good 30 feet in length and have a penchant for materializing out of any body of water, no matter how small. I also enjoy communicating with aquatic life-forms, hunting in totally inhospitable terrain (i.e. 3000 feet below the waves), and using my fluid nature to my advantage. My enemies probably won't even see me approach in the first place. My favorable attributes are the sunset, Autumn, water, compassion, intuition, and calmness. Naturally, I pity the fool who'd try and prove that calmness part, he'd probably wind up being scalded. *small grin* Well the picture belongs to me actually... *grins* It comes from my oracle cards. |
Sunday, May 04, 2003 And Chris... I watched the Tomb Raider 2 trailer... there are British guys and one almost resembled AR when he had all of 0.01 seconds of screentime, but the voice is all wrong. Plus a longer shot of him made me decide that he definitely wasn't AR. But I think I need a second opinion just to be sure... see the trailer here. |
Saturday, May 03, 2003 | Did you people see the VJC website? David Thian was awarded the Angier B Duke Memorial Scholarship by Duke University. And he's one of the 15 recipients in like, the world. (what was that sound? oh, that was my mind boggling) Anyway if he ever comes around to this blog, congrats! If not (which is really the likelier case) then...it's the thought that counts? | Ack! They've got The Barchester Chronicles at Woodlands Library! The videos!!! I think I just found new motivation to get an upgrade on my library membership. And after I manage to borrow it... I have this very very strong premonition that I'll, uh, accidentally lose it. | Hmm... this AR obsession of mine has certainly resulted in me reading stuff I never thought I'd read. I went to Woodlands Library on Wednesday to borrow some books (I can't believe they only have single copies of so many things and they're all either in Woodlands Library or in the Storage-Room-That-Never-Sees-The-Light-Of-Day) and among them was Henrik Ibsen's Ghosts(a.k.a. Those Who Walk Again), Public Enemy and When We Dead Wake. They were quite interesting to read, although the latter was all about symbolism and I got a bit lost. The first two were social criticisms, questioning what is deemed "right" in society (although his was a late 19th Century society, so some stuff is a bit back-dated) like concepts such as duty and "the majority is always right". When We Dead Wake was more personal I suppose, since it was Ibsen's last work. It's about an artist who sacrifices the love of his life for his art, and after that wonders if his "masterpieces" were really that good and if he has actually accomplished anything after all. Basically I had wanted to read When We Dead Wake since AR played Professor Rubek in it. And then I found out that he was in Ghosts too. I still can't believe AR played Pastor Manders...it was such a goody-two-shoes character tragically believing that he had "done right" when all he had really done was screw everything up because he had trusted in the inherent good of Man and the special blessings of God. Rubek on the other hand was an interesting character (although according to directions he was supposed to be an elderly man, which AR wasn't in 1976). He was a sculptor who'd created what he had termed his one great masterpiece, in doing so losing the one woman he loved and the source of his inspiration. But as time went by before the piece was made public, he changed it, so that the original idea of the piece was lost and an almost entirely new piece was made...and though it made him famous, he started to wonder if perhaps it would have been better to just have left it as it is, if the original idea hadn't been better. *sigh* Not the first artist/writer I've heard saying that. Irena: We see the irreparable only when-- Rubek: When--? Irena: When we dead wake. Rubek: What do we really see then? Irena: We see that we have never lived. ("When We Dead Wake", Henrik Ibsen) |

Thursday, May 01, 2003 "It's just the whole pulling a sword from a hat business. You pull rabbits from hats." "I don't think I'd have fancied trying to kill a basilisk with a rabbit." "Oh, but I would love to see you try it. Imagine it. Imagine the photos." Draco went into a quick but energetic roleplay. "The brave hero brandishes his fluffy and whimpering pet of doom. 'Back, back, foul serpent!' Thwack! Distressed squeak. Th--" Dumb but funny...Can you imagine Malfoy doing that? *LOL* | |
